Bugle Call – Week 1 – 2019

What an exciting first week of camp! We are overjoyed to have campers moved in and busy with activities, bonding with cabinmates, and getting into the groove of things. After campers moved in on Sunday, we enjoyed our first council fire where new campers were welcomed to their respective Pine and Sand teams. Everyone was introduced to this summer’s theme: Women of Integrity. We are excited to expand more on this important quality which relates to expressions of wholeness, purity, and completeness.

On Monday, our weekday began with a brisk dip in the lake followed by breakfast, cleanup, quiet time for reading the Lesson and morning activities! A lot of achievement took place on the waterski boat, climbing wall, ceramics room, and more. During the afternoons, girls enjoyed shooting the culverts on the Crystal River, Role Play Mafia, bike ride to the 360° Lookout, and even made a music video. Campers and the Kohahna staff Sky Team were competitive during games of Bombardment and Three-Legged Big Base Kickball, in which many laughs were had. Our week concluded with Saturday clean-up, Lip Sync, Church, and a fun filled day out on Empire Beach.

We are so grateful to spend this summer with your amazing children. We can’t think of a better place than Camp that fosters your child’s growth, encourages them to step outside their comfort zone, and grow stronger in their relationship to God. We can’t wait to see all the good that this summer at Kohahna will bring!
