Giving to Camp

For 100 years, Camps Leelanau and Kohahna have been providing top notch camp programs that provide young Christian Scientists with an opportunity to learn about their true identity, shed limitations, and deepen their understanding of Christian Science.

The Camps continue to operate on the core principles established by founders Maude and Skipper Beals that include integrity, unselfishness, and a commitment to excellence as part of each camp experience.  Summer programs today include a wide variety of activities, from water skiing to glass bead making, from ziplines to horseback riding, sports and athletics, dance, music, and rock climbing, all of which provide learning opportunities that translate into useful skills for everyday life.  Our progams have also expanded beyond the summer weeks to include a Christian Science Men’s Weekend, Harvest Weekend for Women, Family Camp, and the Leelanau Outdoor Center.  All of these programs provide a nurturing atmosphere where young people, and adults, learn to value our founding principles in themselves and others, while having the time of their lives, and at the same time preparing themselves for leadership roles in the future.

We invite you to join with Camp and to be part of this mission. Relying on the many blessings that result from goodness lived and expressed, Camps Leelanau and Kohahna trust this Principle to support our needs, and we are exceedingly grateful for the ongoing provision expressed in prayerful, financial and volunteer backing that helps to keep the Camps operating at the highest levels of excellence.

Every gift to Camp brings blessings to our campers, as they continue to share these blessings with others, proving that love is indeed reflected in even more goodness!

Camps Leelanau and Kohahna welcome your support for these funds:

Operating Endowment – The Leelanau and Kohahna Endowment Fund exists to help ensure the long-term sustainability of the Camps. Gifts to the Endowment are permanently protected while a portion of the interest income may be used for capital improvements, maintenance, or counselor salary enhancements.

Campership Endowment – The Campership Endowowment exists to ensure that Campership will be available for Camp families now and in the future. Each year a small portion of the endowment will be used for Camperships during the current year. The goal is to raise $6 million in this fund to support Campership each year. Currently we are just under $2 million.

Campership Fund – The Campership Fund is used to provide assistance with camp tuition for qualified families. Gifts to this fund go toward camperships for the current summer.

General Fund – This fund provides unrestricted support for operating expenses and current projects.
