Some gratitude for the reunion from Weldon Rutledge
Gentlemen,
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love of Leelanau.
Thank you all for making the effort to come to Pyramid Point, and rekindle the fire. As I overheard Gerry say: “It’s really hard to find a good pick-up game of Bombardment anywhere else.” The spirit and camaraderie that we shared this weekend will keep the fire stoked. Camp is a wonderful and perfect idea that we have all been blessed by and continue to be blessed by, as evidenced this past weekend.
Hanging the Flags in the Lodge was a meaningful highlight for me. I am honored to be entrusted with the traditions and history they represent. I offer a huge Thank You to Phinny, Needham, and Hufstader for keeping them safe for so many years and for allowing them to come home.
Memories of our Council Fire will keep me warm all winter long. And
I hope you also smile, just a little bit, every time you think about Freund having the courage and resolution to play all the way through Taps.
Canoes, Watersports, Ropes, Guns, Ballsports, Good Food, Great
Friends, Singing, Laughing, Camp…”Stand up and cheer your Camp.”
With heartfelt gratitude,
Weldon Rutledge
Director, Camp Leelanau for Boys
