Week 2

Bugle Call

TWe had a blast during the second week of Camp! We are sad to say goodbye to all of our two-weekers, but the week was packed full of the best activities for their last week! On Sunday the campers played a game called “The Bible in a Day.” This activity included activities such as Israelites running from the Egyptians (Obstacle Course), Debra Vs. the Canaanites (mini soccer), and Writing Letters with Paul (rewriting pop songs into Olde English), among others. The kids had so much fun running around Camp and they got a little Bible lesson at the same time!

Monday night we dealt with a bit of rain, but that didn’t stop us from continuing our activities in full force. All day the campers got to do some fun and creative activities such as dance parties in the Great House, creating a song and dance to cheer for the sun to come out, and building worm colonies. Luckily the rain let up long enough for our Evening Activity, Big Base. The campers dressed up as Aliens or Cowboys and had so much fun!

On Tuesday we had so much fun playing Pirates and Cargo! The Pirates chased the Cargo around as they attempted to pass silly notes between the counselors. Wednesday was a full day with Morning Activities, Cabin Day in the afternoon, and Church and Hymn Sing in the Evening. Many of our Wildwoods were out on overnights or trips, so the Waukeenas got to go tubing for Cabin Day! The two other older cabins here got to go hiking and do a scavenger hunt in Glen Arbor. Overall, it was a super successful day and everyone had a blast.

Thursday, we played PozDog - Pines Versus Sands. Everyone had so much fun running around on the beach and through the water. The Sands ended up winning the competitive game 2-1! On Friday we played the classic Sands versus Pines game, Superlatives! The campers showed off their talents such as hula hooping and how many languages one spoke.

Saturday, we decided to change up the usual schedule with a lecture in Charlevoix! The Wildwoods listened to Alexandre Fischer talk about How Spiritual Perception Brings Healing. While our Waukeenas played on the beach nearby. We made it back home just in time for a co-ed dinner with Leelanau.

What a week! While it was a full week the campers never lack energy and are excited to celebrate 4th of July on Tuesday! We can’t believe we are onto our last week of the first session.
